The Postal Service has been renting the post office building in West Lynn, Massachusetts for over sixty years. Now the Postal Service wants to cut costs and it says the building is too big. According to USPS real estate special Joseph Mulvey, the current space has 5,500 square feet, and about one-fifth of that would be enough for a small retail office.
Local officials are concerned that the new location will not be convenient and accessible on foot. “If the place is too far away, people are going to be really upset,” City Councilor Peter Capano told Postal Service officials during a Tuesday night council committee meeting. Read more
