The Postal Service consolidated the mail processing operations from the San Diego P & DC as part of the Network Rationalization plan, leaving only a retail operation, but it's the main post office for San Diego. The 26-acre property is now seen as too big, and it's on the market — again.
The Postal Service tried selling it back in 2010 but there were no buyers. The price back then was $62.5 million. The the Peninsula Woman’s Club would like to buy the property and turn it into senior housing and a recreation area. Read more.
