Pensacola News Journal: Though it already was set to close Saturday, the Innerarity Point Post Office in Perdido Key was unexpectedly shut down Wednesday by the previous owners.
According to post office supervisor Kim Furr, the previous owners of the store came in Wednesday afternoon, changed the locks and closed the post office permanently.
Furr said she is very concerned about the post office customers who were told they could pick up their mail until Saturday.
“It’s just really not fair to the people who thought they still had time to pick up their last few times,” she said.
Furr said anyone who hasn’t yet claimed their mail will have to visit the Warrington U.S. Post office, where the remaining mail from the Innerarity Point Post Office will be held….
The shopping center in which the post office is located was sold to Johnny Little, who has chosen not to renew the contract with the U.S. Postal Service. Furr noted several people had inquired about the contract and the possibility of a new location, but no one had solidified a deal. Little could not be reached for comment Wednesday. Read more.
